　　昭和10年（1935）於鹿港街役場旁興建街長宿舍，做為鹿港街長的公館。第一任鹿港街長是慶昌商號陳懷澄擔任， 第二任街長為日人吉田秀治郎，宿舍完成後，吉田秀治郎是首位進駐宿舍的街長。鹿港街長宿舍為日式木構造建築，基座抬高，基腳多為磚柱或木柱，有助於通風，並可防止地板的潮濕與蛀蟲的侵害。

　　Lukang Mayor’s Residence was established next to the Lukang public hall in 1935. The first Lukang mayor was Chen Huai-cheng who owned Qingchang Hao. The second Lukang mayor was Shuujirou Yoshida. After the mayor’s residence was completed, Shuujirou Yoshida resided there firstly. Lukang Mayor’s Residence is a Japanese-style construction of wood with relatively tall foundation and the bricked and wooden plinths, which are used for ventilation and preventing floor from humidification and vermiculation.
