　　乾隆40年（1775）鹿仔港巡檢王坦與幕僚浙江紹興魏子鳴倡議，鹿港士紳林振嵩及泉、廈郊戶捐資，創立鹿港第一個慈善組織「敬義園」，舉凡施棺木、拾字紙、收遺骸、置義塚、修橋樑、平道路等，從事地方公益。昭和11 年（1936）由許逸漁撰文，義濟會勒碑，設置「鹿港敬義園紀念碑」，紀念先賢的事蹟。

　　In 1775 the establishment of the first charitable organization, “Jingyi Yuan” in Lukang was promoted by Lukang Governor Wang Tan and his staff, Wei Zi-ming from Shaoxing County, Zhejiang Province and subscribed by Lukang gentry, Lin Zhen-song and the trade firms of Quan Guild and Xia Guild. This charitable organization pursued activities for public welfare such as bridge repairing, road paving and tomb building. Jingyi Yuan Memorial was composed by Xu Yi-yu and built by the Yi Ji Association in 1936 to commemorate the sages’ sagas.
