新祖宮是清領時期官方興建的媽祖廟,正殿奉祀媽祖,配祀千里眼、順風耳為戴官帽、穿官鞋的造型,相當特別。二次世界大戰時,廟宇受損。民國61年重修廟宇,恢復傳統廟宇風貌。目前,正殿門神是鹿港郭新林匠師晚期的作品,門屏上亦有鹿港名書法家黃天素的作品。

Xinzu Temple is a Mazu temple established by the government of the Qing Dynasty. It is devoted chiefly to Mazu, as well as the Clairvoyant and Clairaudient, who are dressed in vestment particularly. During World War Π the temple was ruined and in 1972 the temple was restored to its original structure. The present door gods painting of the main hall was the late works of crafts master, Guo Xin-lin. The master Huang Tian-su’s calligraphy was inscribed on the screens next to the doors as well.
